'pekerja' (employee) berarti orang yang telah mengadakan atau bekerja berdasarkan kontrak kerja (contract of service) dengan pemberi kerja.
'employee' means a person who has entered into or works under a contract of service with an employer.
Pekerja yang tercakup tidak boleh diwajibkan bekerja lebih dari 8 jam sehari atau 44 jam seminggu; pekerjaan melebihi batas itu dibayar sebagai lembur dengan tarif tidak kurang dari satu setengah kali tarif dasar per jam.
A covered employee shall not be required to work more than 8 hours a day or 44 hours a week; work in excess of those limits is payable as overtime at not less than one and a half times the hourly basic rate of pay.
Pemberi kerja wajib membayar gaji kepada tiap pekerja paling lambat 7 hari setelah hari terakhir periode gaji; gaji untuk kerja lembur dibayar dalam 14 hari setelah hari terakhir periode gaji.
An employer shall pay salary to each employee not later than 7 days after the last day of the salary period; salary for overtime work shall be paid within 14 days after the last day of the salary period.
