Article 1
— Definition of Public Information
Bahasa IndonesiaInformasi Publik adalah informasi yang dihasilkan, disimpan, dikelola, dikirim, dan/atau diterima oleh suatu Badan Publik yang berkaitan dengan penyelenggara dan penyelenggaraan negara dan/atau penyelenggara dan penyelenggaraan Badan Publik lainnya yang sesuai dengan Undang-Undang ini serta informasi lain yang berkaitan dengan kepentingan publik.
English (British)Public information is information produced, stored, managed, sent and/or received by a public body relating to state administration and/or to the administration of other public bodies in accordance with this Law, and other information concerning the public interest.

Article 2
— Principle of Openness
Bahasa Indonesia(1) Setiap Informasi Publik bersifat terbuka dan dapat diakses oleh setiap Pengguna Informasi Publik.
(2) Informasi Publik yang dikecualikan bersifat ketat dan terbatas.

Article 4
— Right to Obtain Information
Bahasa Indonesia(1) Setiap Orang berhak memperoleh Informasi Publik sesuai dengan ketentuan Undang-Undang ini.
(2) Setiap Orang berhak melihat dan mengetahui Informasi Publik serta mendapatkan salinannya.
